Small Columbia River Effigy. Steatite drilled Bead or Pendant 1 1/8" L. Animal effigy probably representing a seal with simplified head decorated tail and incised stylistic Columbia River ribs. This small effigy is worn smooth the suspension hole drilled through the back is worn through. This artifact was found by the Buckles brothers at the Bead Patch in The Dalles in the 1950's. Glen Don Buckles were members of the Oregon Archaeological Society.
