Nice! Columbia River Effigy Bead. A highly polished and ornately decorated 1" drilled stone effigy bead or bangle made from black steatite. The head of the effigy is defined by an encircling line. The body is not defined but the face of the effigy is well defined showing pronounced ears a Columbia River mono-brow punctated eyes a small snout and mouth. This rare artifact was found by Tony Falbo near the Maybe site in Klickitat County WA. Tony was a member of the Oregon Archaeological Society in the 1960's. Ex. Bill Peterson collection.
