The Great Seal Sale Highlight. A scarce Effigy Adornment piece made of polished steatite and perforated for suspension depicting a seal or sea lion – hunters of Columbia River salmon. The punctated eyes may have held shell inlays. Found by Tony Falbo of The Dalles near the Ohbe site in Klickitat Co. Washington. Tony was a member of the Oregon Archaeological Society in the 1960’s. Acquired by Bill Peterson the Great Seal was the largest personal adornment effigy in Bill’s Collection. 2 1/4" L. Ex Tony Falbo ex Bill Peterson.
