5" Gorget made from banded slate. Recovered at the Byler Mound, Farmington Twp., Trumbull Co., Ohio. Pictured in Bennett's "Indian Artifacts of Ancient Ohio" on pages 115, 215, 236, 239, 318. Found by 2 of the Shelby family boys who owned the property before the Byler family purchased the land. The boys were digging a fort in the middle of the mound when they uneathed it. William Platt heard about the mound in the late 1940's - early 1950's and purchased the gorget from them. From the collection of Jim Miller.
