Rare Cache of Flared Bit Flint Spuds found in Alexander Co., Illinois, #1954-40 - #1954-45. Ex. T.R. Rickert, Roy Pohler, Frank Morast, Dan Stroud collections. There were originally 7 Spuds found in the cache, but the farmer who found them kept one when he sold them. These six have remained together ever since, but the 7th has never surfaced again. One spud is broken and glued at the mid-section. Largest measures 7 3/4". From the collection of Frank Foremny.
