Unique Cache find! Set of 5 Cache Blades and Knives found in 1907 at Fishers Ferry, New York

Unique Cache find! Set of 5 Cache Blades and Knives ( 2 are broken and glued) that were found together as part of a cache of 60 pieces found in 1907 at Fishers Ferry New York by Charles Newton. These were found 16 miles west of Schenectady along the Erie Canal. This Cache was discovered by a knife sticking out from the root of the tree with the remainder of the blades found in and around the roots. The other items from this cache were donated by Mr. Newton to a museum in New York State. The root section that is included in this lot contains a larger knife as well as a broken section of one of the knives in the cache which the tree root grew around. This group resided in the Snyder collection of Canandaigua N.Y. and was purchased by H.B.Greene Sr in 1952. H.B.G. Jr. dispersed his father's collection in 2005 and this group has been in the collection of Len Weidner since that time.
