Rare Columbia River Stone Ladle. A small stone ladle or spoon made of basalt and decorated with marks around the rim and with an incised diamond-with-lines design motif on one side. 2.5”L. One of just a few stone spoons or ladles ever recovered from the Columbia River. Found by Dewey Schmid on the mid Columbia prior to 1955. Dewey was an early member of the Oregon Archaeological Society.
