28"long Ngulu Sword. Hand carved wood handle wire wrapped with metal blade. A Ngulu is an execution sword used by the Bantu peoples of the Congo Basin in Africa attributed to the Ngombe tribe. The Ngombe inhabit the Itimbiri-Ngiri and the triangle formed by the Congo and the Ubangi. While the Ngombe are known to be a fishing society they like many of the other Congo basin tribes were also cannibals.
